Inverness Meeting - from 30/09 to 06/09

RESULTS

The aim of this first meeting was the identification of certain parameters and indicators to evaluate each methodology from the teachers' point of view. Starting from the materials presented by each delegation.
The discussion was developed with group techniques, and the results was collected in four different tables (summarised reports). Comparing the final considerations, it will be possible to define five forms collecting the ideas and the observations developed in the tables.
Here the corrected and revised forms and grids proposed during the discussions:

table A

A - Teaching techniques

table B

B - Classrooms interactions

table C

C - Students attention

table D

D - Class management

table D

E - Evaluation

Each form identifies one particular aspect of the teaching, and consists of four different areas:
  1. Time length observation, filled by an external observer of the lesson/module, reporting the time dedicated to each indicated item, sequentially.
  2. Four bands report, filled by the external observer or directly by the teacher or by the students, marking the indicated items using four different bands (min, low, high, max).
  3. True/False report, filled by the external observer or directly by the teacher or by the students, valuating the indicated items using a Yes or No choise.
  4. Data and comments, filled by the reporter/s.
After the meeting, some partners have tested the grids above: here are the filled versions of the B grid (Classrooms interactions) and the D grid (Class management).
